Eye of the Collector 2022 with Ruup & Form
12th – 14th May 2022
I am delighted to be showing my CNC milled walnut sculptural furniture piece A Corner with Ruup & Form in the Eye of the Collector this week.
A Corner was made as part of a larger body of work for a solo exhibition titled In Reverence, and was inspired in part by the painting ‘A Corner of an Artist’s Room in Paris’ by Gwen John in which a side table sits underneath a window with a book opened on its surface. The painting has a beautiful intimacy and softness to it; a quiet contemplative space.
This work has been made in collaboration with @fablabcardiff and professional furniture maker Jennifer Finnegan @wood.and.wire. Its surface has been made from a 3D scan which has been CNC milled from American black walnut.
Founded by Nazy Vassegh, Eye of the Collector is a boutique fair presenting works of art and design carefully chosen in collaboration with the participating galleries, in celebration of connoisseurship spanning 6,000 years of art history.
